What we collect

We do not ask for your name, phone number or payment details, and we do not sell or rent your personal information.

Why we collect it (purposes and consent)

We use your information only to send the newsletter, keep a record of your consent as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and understand which content and sponsors are useful in aggregate (for example, total opens or clicks). By subscribing you consent to these uses. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who processes it for us

We require our service providers to protect your information and use it only to provide services to us.

How long we keep it (retention)

We keep your email address and city while you are subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we keep only what we need to honour the unsubscribe and to show proof of consent under CASL (generally up to 3 years), then delete it. Aggregate statistics that do not identify you may be kept longer.

Unsubscribe

Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Unsubscribe requests are processed right away and always within 10 business days. You can also email privacy@sortedweekly.ca.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email privacy@sortedweekly.ca from the address you subscribed with. We will respond within 30 days.

Safeguards

Access to subscriber data is limited to the accounts that run the newsletter, protected by strong passwords and two-factor authentication where available.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
